Debbie Kolodji..
..from Temple City has been coming to Shakespeare by the Sea for about 4-5 years. She first heard about us when searching on the web trying to see whether there was any local Shakespeare plays and "Shakespeare by the Sea" came up. Over the years she says it is nice to see how each play is different and that the audiences are growing. Like many others that we have talked to attending our festival has become a part of her summer tradition. She says, "It's not summer unless I can sit in the park with a picnic dinner and watch Shakespeare!"
Her favorite story was when one year her daughter found a hard copy of the collected works of William Shakespeare in the grass, looking the bit worse for wear, so they picked it up and looked around for its owner. She said, "Happily we found him", but the experience was inspiration for a haiku.

Her favorite performance is Othello, which she saw in South Pasadena, the summer before last. She thought it was "a fantastic production - one of the best Othello's I'd seen performed."
