Melissa Booey  (Isabella)
Melissa Booey

Melissa is excited to be a part of SBTS’s filmed productions. She spent two summers touring Southern California with Shakespeare by the Sea and has also appeared at Little Fish Theatre in Pick of the Vine 2020, the Beer Plays, and Bloody Poetry. She has recently finished the first season of her podcast titled Poet’s Return and is preparing to launch season two. (Cast List)

Cylan Brown  (Lucio)
Cy Brown

Cy is returning to Shakespeare by the Sea for his eleventh season. Having directed The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Taming of the Shrew and Cymbeline for SBTS he has also directed Boeing Boeing, The 39 Steps and ever popular Pick of the Vine short plays series for the Little Fish Theatre. When not directing for the stage, Cy can be found acting and SBTS regulars may recognize him from his portrayals of Hamlet, Romeo, Touchstone, Falconbridge, and Julius Caesar over the years. Other stage roles include Lt. David Wills in Taking Sides (Rubicon Theater), Victor Flemming in Moonlight and Magnolias, and Serge from (Civic Light Opera of the South Bay). He also teaches students and directs young actors with the Much Ado About Shakespeare educational program. (Cast List)

Dana DeRuyck (Overdone/Mariana/Juliette)
Dana DeRuyck
Dana is thrilled to come back to play with Shakespeare by the Sea after briefly understudying in their 2016 production of Othello. Most recently, she appeared as Mercutio in The Porters of Hellsgate’s Romeo & Juliet. LA Theatre: Sisters Three (Inkwell Theatre); Hole in the Sky (Circle X Theatre); A Gulag Mouse, Mr. Burns: a Post-Electric Play, Jane Austen’s Emma Frankenstein (Sacred Fools Theater Co.); King Lear, The Merry Wives of Windsor (Porters of Hellsgate); Brown Buffalo (Company of Angels). Tara Donovan  (Provost/Tamara)
Tara DonovanTara is an award-winning producer, actor, and director.  She has graced the California stages from San Diego to Ventura and been seen in several tv shows including Days of Our Lives. Favorite stage roles include Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Tyler in Some Girl(s), and Diedre Ryan in the west coast premiere of The Lady Was a Gentleman. She received her BA in both Theatre Performance and Political Science with a summer at Oxford through BADA and an MFA in Producing at the American Film Institute Conservatory. Having been mid rehearsals for Almost Maine with Stephanie Coltrin directing when the pandemic shutdown started, Tara is thrilled to resume working with Stephanie and to make her SBTS debut. www.TaraDonovan.com    (Cast List)

Rogelio Douglas, III  (Claudio)
Rogelio Douglas III

Rogelio is an actor and spoken-word poet from Brooklyn, NY. He has a BA in Theater from SUNY New Paltz, and an MFA in Acting from UCLA Theater, Film & Television — Class of 2020! The Black & Afro-Latino storyteller now resides in LA where he most recently performed with the Company of Angels for the Together LA Festival in a play called Class of 2020 by Lisa Loomer, and also in an international production called The Art of Facing Fear directed by Rodolfo García Vázquez. RD3 can also be seen in numerous films and co-starring spots on HBO, NBC and CBS. Jonathan Fisher  (Angelo)
Jonathan Fisher
Jonathan is thrilled to be back with Shakespeare by the Sea after appearing the past two summers in Henry V (Henry V), The Comedy of Errors (Antipholus of Ephesus), The Winter’s Tale (Clown) and The Merry Wives of Windsor (Sir Hugh Evans). Jonathan comes to Southern California by way of South Florida, Chicago and Rhode Island, and holds a BA in Theatre and English Literature from Northwestern University. Some favorite recent theatre credits include: A Sad Tale’s Best for Winter (Beating of Wings at A Noise Within); Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (A Noise Within); Elevada, Tribes and The Eight: Reindeer Monologues (Chance Theater); Macbeth (Sacramento Theatre Company); Henry IV Part 1 (Shakespeare Orange County); and The Cripple of Inishmaan (Torrance Theatre Co.). Jane Hink (Escalus)

Jane is excited to work with SBTS. She has performed in and directed over 20 Shakespeare plays from the East Coast to the West, and has loved it since she snuck her grandmother’s car out without a license to see Romeo and Juliet as a teenager. Among the roles she’s played are Hamlet in Hamlet, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Dionyza in Pericles, Prince of Tyre, Lady Macbeth, Ophelia in Hamlet, Rosalind in As You Like It, and Viola in Twelfth Night. On TV she’s been seen as Doris the cleaning lady in many Mindy Project Episodes, also recurred on Nickelodeon’s School of Rock and guested on Veep, House of Lies, Getting On, Profiler, Frasier, and many more. She would like to dedicate her performances to her uncle, Bob Hink, a Shakespearean Scholar. (Cast List)

Andy Kallok (Elbow/Barnerdine)
Andy Kallok
For 14 seasons with Shakespeare by the Sea, Andy has played the “old guy with the white beard” in 27 productions since 2002. He has also acted with The Long Beach Shakespeare Company, the Garage Theater, Kentwood Players, and the 2019 opening production of House of Bards Theater Company. On July 26 Andy appeared in the online production of All the Days for the Torrance Theater Company. He has also acted in several student and independent films including the recent features 19 Summers and Love in the Time of Monsters. (Cast List)

Brendan Kane (Pompey)
Brendan KaneBrendan is thrilled to be returning to Shakespeare by the Sea where he was last seen in The Comedy of Errors (Dromio of Syracuse) and Henry V (The Dauphin). A graduate of Oklahoma City University, Brendan was raised in an Air Force family and is happy to call Los Angeles his home. Other recent credits include The Lonesome West (Little Fish Theatre); Lend Me a Tenor (Long Beach Playhouse); California Suite (Noisy Nest); A Sad Tale’s Best for Winter (Beating of Wings); Macbeth (House of Bards). Ryan Knight (Froth/Friars/Messenger)
Ryan Knight

Ryan is so excited to be back with SBTS. This is his sixth season with the company, having previously appeared in 2010’s Twelfth Night and Julius Caesar, 2015’s As You Like It and The Tempest, 2016’s Cymbeline and Othello, and 2018’s productions of Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth. For four years Ryan worked as a performer for Disney Cruise Line, working on 12 shows over 3 ships. In his free time, Ryan works as a freelance columnist on classical literature, and loves playing with his band JAM+1. Previous roles include (Sir Andrew) in Twelfth Night, (Hortensio) in Taming of the Shrew, (Stephano) in The Tempest, (Oliver) in As You Like It. (Cast List)

Patrick Vest (Duke)
Patrick Vest

Patrick has been performing with Shakespeare by the Sea since 2002.  He’s played such roles as Macbeth, Iago, Malvolio, Mercutio, King John, Caliban, Leontes, Mark Antony, Bottom, and many others.  He also directed three productions:  All’s Well that Ends Well, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and As You Like It.  Additionally, Patrick is the resident fight choreographer.  He’s excited to take part in this grand adventure but sure does hope that there is an end to this pandemic soon.  Patrick received his MFA in Acting from the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and he continues to study with Jack Stehlin at New American Theatre.  (Cast List)
