SBTS seeks a Tour Intern

This is an excellent opportunity for an intern to get hands-on experience in the administration and production of a live touring festival that has become a cherished annual event in Los Angeles County. From implementing a marketing plan, working alongside production and artistic personnel, coordinating earned income strategies, and interacting with a large audience and donors, while experiencing a diversity of tour locations throughout LA County, this internship offers a behind-the-scenes entrée into producing theatre. This position will work approximately 30 hours a week from June – September with some ability to extend hours (remotely or in person) through the fall and winter.

QUALIFICATIONS

Meticulous attention to detail, great attitude, enthusiasm for the arts, strong organizational and administrative skills, great phone etiquette, computer savvy, ability to work in high-pressure, deadline-driven situations, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work evenings as well as days, ability to lift 50 lbs, ability to follow-through, and a team player. The Intern will need to provide their own car for transportation to and from the office workspace in the South Bay of LA and the performance tour venues that are throughout LA and Orange Counties.

Internship Duration: (Flexible period) June 2024 – September 2024, approximately 30 hours per week.

Wages: The Intern will be employed at $16.90/ hr for a required 400 hours of work, increasing to $17.27 on July 1. 

SBTS is most interested in hearing from diverse local Community College Students as this proposal provides a valuable opportunity to gain a  deeper experience in theatre-making beyond just the summer months.  Other candidates may apply as well.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE LA COUNTY ARTS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM?

2024 Arts Internship positions will be open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1 – December 1, 2024. The Department of Arts and Culture encourages eligible students from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as disabled students, to apply. Eligible students may participate in the program only once.

Note:

  • Students who have already earned a BA, BS, or a higher degree are not eligible for the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.
  • Students who have previously participated in the program are not eligible to participate a second time.
  • Students must posses the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Students who are invited to participate in the program will be asked to provide verification of eligibility via college transcripts, driver’s license, and other documents to show enrollment status and/or LA County residence.

 

-There are no exceptions to LACAC’s eligibility requirements.
